Getting Around Bangka Belitung Islands Province

There are no taxi in Belitung. The best way to hang around is with public transport or rent a car. Public transport is limited up to dusk.

When I'm there, I rent a car + driver. It cost around Rp. 400,000 per day (around US $ 44) excluding gasoline

there's no public boat to make island hop from and to the beaches and islets. so, ask the fishermen to take you to the island. and about public transport, there's no bus around the main island of belitung, everybody can use small "bemo" [public transportation] or join "kijang" that said as "taxi". but both of us like going with locals using motorbike. so fun and enjoyable :)

Oh, I can say it is quite cheap and marvellous. I even get reduction for the first class when I bought the ticket at the Travel Agent in Tanjung Pinang.
The ship is big and clean compare to another ship that I get on before leaving Pulau Bangka.

To get around in a different area such as in east coast, I have to take bus. Local people called it 'bis'.
Taking this bus quite early in the morning in the market to the main terminal bus station to catch bus to the east coast.
I am taking bus to Kelapa Kampit and will drop me buy infront of the place where we expected to be off.
It took about 2hrs to get to Kelapa Kampit.
The price are about Rp5000 one way.
