Or Ujung Kulon National Park. Situated 6 hours ride from Labuan [from the intersection Carita/Anyer - Labuan]. You can find the rhinos here, padi field, rainforest, beach and Isles of Peucang, Panaikan, Handeuleum and Honje. Here are several important plantations and animals at Ujung Kulon:
* Animals: Banteng [Bos Javanicus, Rusa [Cervus timurensis], Muncak [Muntiacus muncak], Kancil [Ragulus javanicus] and Badak bercula satu [Primucerus sondaicus].
* Plantations: Nyamplung [Calophyllum inophyllum], Butun [Baringtonia asiatica], Kampis cina [Hemandia peltata], Ketapang [Terminalia Catappa], mangrove padi-padian [Lumnizera raceamos], Api-api [Aviccena officianalis], Bogem [Sonneratia alba] and Barringtonia.
As the Jakartans [or coming from other big cities :)] who always have busy days, finding 'desa' and 'kampung' [village] becomes a nice experience. Desa Cikoneng is one of these category. Find the jajanan [traditional snacks] and local souvenirs here.
After the big [giant!!!] eruption at 1883, Krakatau [Krakatoa] has a new volcano called 'Anak Rakata'. Both of them can be reached from Anyer and Carita [takes around 3 - 4 boat ride] or Bandar Lampung [2 hours ride].
There are 3 beaches situated along the coastal zone of Anyer. They're: Pantai Anyer, Pantai Karangbolong and Pantai Carita. Every beach has their own unique but all of them are the perfect places for waiting sunset.
In this tranquil place nearby the Lighthouse, we can see the fishermen with their boats. Also several people catching fish. So quiet, but you will get a different atmosphere if visiting here around new year and big holidays.
The information above the main doors of the lighthouse, telling that this licnttoren built 2 years after the great eruption of Mount Krakatau [Krakatoa] at 1883. When the sky is clear, you can see this mountain at the opposite side of this lighthouse.
This gangway is more than 12 km and used to send the iron cores from the mining to the Krakatau Wajautama Corp., [waja means iron, utama is number one, so this is the main industry from the city of Cilegon].
It's a unique trip: hunting the sunrise [or sunset] that I and my dear friend Eka always do in between our hectic time: deadline in the office. Only minutes away in early morning and voila ... this is my "morning has broken" part 1.
Along the way Jakarta - Anyer, there are many beautiful padi [rice] fields at the left or right side. Do not miss it!!!
At the front of the Lighthouse towards sea, can be seen the old sea-wall and an open space to put a giant lamp to warn the fishermen, before the Dutch build this Lighthouse.
This is the eternal flame from liquid natural gas which situated nearby the city of Cilegon. Industrial areas are surrounded and this flame became a street-mark to enter Carita and Anyer.
Several "sawung" [open cabin made from bamboo] are available around Pantai Anyer. Have a seat here ... feeling the breeze and the views to directions to Mount Krakatoa or The Lighthouse.
The old light house made by 1885 during the first occupation of the Netherlands. Don't forget about the road of Anyer which called De Postweg Anyer - Panarukan.
