As the capital of Banten province, Serang has become a modern small city. Some of the attractions from Serang are the old Banten town, the ruins of Surosowan Palace, Kaibon Palace, 'Masjid Agung Banten' (Banten Great Mosque).

Masjid Agung Banten Lama

This is a great mosque which was built in 1566; it has a five-layered roof and an eight-cornered minaret or in Indonesia we called its as MENARA. The mosque was located just in front of SUROSOWAN PALACE

On the way to the SouthWest of Banten Province by land, Panimbangan is a stop over. Here is where one can buy some fish from fishermen at the Fish Market. It was good to know that all who buy a fresh fish are preparing for cook by themself when they are already at their villa at Tanjung Puting, do bargaining and one can get a fresh fish with a good price

A view from Regular train to Rangkas Bitung

Lebak is one district under the Administration of Banten Province, if one travelling to visit Baduy village, lebak is a stop over. A convenient way to Lebak is by Train From Jakarta to Rangkas Bitung, but the regular train is so crowded and hot, even though you can enjoy the train and see the real life of native peoples activities how they struggle for their life as we can see on this train. The other tour experience is, one can go to Baduy village by land transportation via Rangkas Bitung, the capital of Lebak district. Along the road you can find a beautiful panorama of green paddy fields, jungles and hill%

the root

The forest ranger would love to guide us to walk around the island. There's a big rock with a hole like a cave at the northern coast of the island, they named it Karang Copong.

If you're lucky you'll meet peacock in the forest. We also can see monitor lizard, boar, monkeys.

"Kaibon" was taken from words Ka-lbu-an, meaning that the palace was intended to Sultan's mother. When Sultan Muhammad Rafiuddin must run the government to change his father that was Sultan Muhammad Syafiudin, at that time he was just still 5 (five) month old, so to continue the government, Sultan Rafiudin mother that was Queen Aisyah replaced her son's position until he grew up. That is why the palace called Kaibon Palace. Located more or less I km from Banten Great Mosque or exactly located at Kroya village.
