Public transportation is available from Jakarta to Labuan, Banten. Then continue to Sumur/Taman Jaya, the last village to start trekking in Ujung Kulon. Crossing to Peucang Island is a problem since there is no public boat to get to. Raise the Flag to call rangers in Peucang Island and they will pick you up. To get back to Sumur Harbor from Peucang Island is also another problem if you don't rent/book a boat. But don't worry, ask the rangers there to stop fisherman's boat to bring you back to Sumur with negotiable price below normal rental boat.

Transportation only by sea

Visitors going to Peucang island are mostly foreign tourists. The trip to that resort is just too expensive for local tourists due to the remote location of the island. Peucang can be reached only by sea. There are sometimes strong winds and powerful waves, making the trip impossible. Tourists can reach Peucang from Carita beach port in Banten by hiring speedboats available at Lippo Marina at a cost of about Rp 5.5 million each for up to three days and two nights. It takes about 2.5 hours to go to the island from Carita by speedboat, which has a maximum capacity of 20 passengers. Or from Labuan by wood boat for cheaper price.
