A small and simple night warung (food stall) “Bak Mie Surabaya” serves tasty and cheap Indonesian dishes like fried rice, Magelangan, fried noodles, kwetiau, capacay. Mains from Rp. 11,000 to Rp. 13,000. The warung is clean and ideal for sampling some noodle dishes.
There are other tens of night roadside food stalls just off Natadirja street, Mahakam street and Sutoyo street that serve up fresh and pretty cheap Indonesian meals like fried rice, bakso (meatball soup), tekwan, pempek (a mixture of sago, fish and seasoning that is formed into balls and deep fried and served with a spicy sauce), fried noodles, chicken wonton soup, nasi uduk, sate and etc for around Rp. 10,000 – Rp. 15,000 (less than US $ 2).
Favorite Dish: I like the fried rice. It's tasty

Seafood fans should head straight to the fine “Sembam Ikan Marola” on Jalan Pariwisata Pantai Berkas – Bengkulu (around 10 minutes walk from Horison hotel to Berkas beach). Marola serves a good range of local dishes, fresh drinks and tasty seafood at reasonable prices. It has quite specious space, clean and quiet rooms with fine view over the Berkas beach.

Travelers with a taste for tasty Javanese bakso (meatball soup) should head to Bakso Arema Cak Brewok on Jl. Mahakam Lingkar Barat – Bengkulu. Warung bakso Arema Cak Brewok is simple, clean, open air eatery serving excellent eastern Javanese meatball soup, cold soft drinks and icy fresh fruit juices locally known as “es juice” (Rp. 6,000). A bowl of bakso cost Rp. 10,000.
According to many serious bakso fans, bakso Cak Brewok is considered the best bakso in town. It has a reputation for serving tasty bakso better than anyone else in Bengkulu. As this place is often packed with bakso fans, the food is cooked and eaten quite quickly and is not reheated. Come and have some!!
Favorite Dish: I love the bakso with crispy fried bakso, it only can be found in Bakso Arema Cak Brewok and its official branches in Bengkulu province.
