Favorite thing: The better way to Cipanas is from Jakarta. The distance from Jakarta to Bogor is 60 km and from Bogor to Cipanas is about 40 km. Generally you can drive to Cipanas directly from Jakarta via Highway, avoid Saturday, Sunday or National Holiday by the traffic will be heavily crowded ( there is also a beautiful President Palace at Cipanas).
Please Don't miss to visit Bogor Botanical Garden (the home of +/- 14,000 plants species) and Bogor President Palace (built by Thomass Stamford Raffless in 18 Century)you should recognize that there are so many factory outlet(dress , shoes, t shirts, bags etc) at Bogor down town not far from Bogor Botanical Garden. Have a nice travel and enjoy your stay in Bogor

Favorite thing: The Presidential Summer Palace,
Istana Bogor, is located on the northwest side
of the Botanical Gardens. We saw it from the
street and from the botanical gardens behind
the tree with the giant bats.
Round the palace you can still find about 300
white-spotted deer. How did they end up here?
During the Dutch colonial period they used to
serve as food for the dutch rulers.
These days I think they just have to look good.
We could not resist feeding them from within
the botanical garden. They are quit gentle animals.

Favorite thing:
When we left the botanical garden we were
attracted by noise. A lot of noise. We went a
little closer and before we knew it we were
dragged in. From ou former journey we knew
that chinese temples are very inviting and
not offended by visitors. Au contrary.
Since it never hurts to ask any God for
whatever wish we bought ourselves some
incense sticks and things to offer. And we
imitated the others , but still did it all wrong.
Well , a very friendly man guided us around ,
explained us why this and why that and how
to do it right.
And suddenly he dissapeared. We hadn't even
had the chance to thank him. We had a
fantastic time. Especially me...I had Frederik
doing all the work and I took pictures. :-)
I wonder if his wishes came true?
I bet they did.
