Taking train from Jakarta to Bogor is best option and the fastest way to get there. From Kota Station (Old and Torn-Plat Form # 9) or Gambir Station Central Jakarta near MONAS - Track # 2 Much cleaner and well maintained facility) Executive Airconditioned Train runs regularly and stop at very few stations at cost of 12000 IDR These are usually less crowdy then the Economy Train (only from Kota Station)which cost 2500 IDR which is crowdy and so noisy with Street Bands singing songs all the way, Vendors selling almost everything for IDR1000 (from Tissue paper, water and soft drinks, fruits, vegetale to hair clips and nail cutters) and Crossdressers, Its a ride full of fun and a good way to know local customs and way of life.

Pakuan Express is a train transportation from Jakarta to Bandung, its very convinient the train equipped with Air Conditional, The ticket price is Rp. 10.000 / trip

This was on the views we saw during our 3 hour trip from Bogor to Bandung.
The bus didn't stop and costed 21.000 Rps per person.
