So, just rent a motorcycle around Malioboro area, about Rp.50,000.

Most places of interest are within 2 km... so walking is an option. But it's easier to just hop onto a becak or one of those horse-pulled carts for a few thousand rp.

You can also hire a taxi to visit borobudur for the sunrise and return back to your hotel for less than USD10( USD8 ~ USD9). Do negotiate a bit .

I hire a taxi( normal car) with driver and costed 300,000rp for one whole day service. You probably might able to find some good deal around 250,000 ~ 300,000rp if yuo've time to ask around.
