The Damri bus company offers a frequent executive class bus service from Yogya airport to Magelang. The bus shelter is conveniently located at the parking across the railway, where all passengers arriving at Yogya have to proceed through the tunnel, in order to catch a train, bus, taxi or private car.
Arrival at Magelang is near Hotel Wisata, south of city centre. This is convenient if you want to stay at this 'melati class' hotel (rates Rp 50,000 to Rp 200,000), but for the top hotel Puri Asri you will need transport for another 2 km. The regular bus station is also 2 km to the north-east.
As per October 2010 the fare is Rp 35,000 p.p. and the departure times are:
Yogya airport to Magelang: 7 - 8 -9 -10 -11am, noon, 14 - 16 -18 - 19 - 20 pm.
Magelang to Yogya airport: 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 10 am, noon, 13 -14 -15 -16 pm.
The trip takes about one hour.

We can use many ways to take trips aroud Magelang. But using cars or motorcycles can give u more thing to do rather than using mass transport cos we could have only small minibus used as mass transport here. The residents're used to call it Angkot. It's not effective, coz it only serve short trip that means we have to continue our trip using other transport. If use our own car/motor we can freely roaming in the city. Nothing to worry coz the road conditions is good enough, tough there some sectors that u should to be more careful coz the road is not wide enough n lots of people passing trough like near Borobudur Market or Magelang Market.
