Ethnic javan,other wise you can eat Nasi gandul very juice but if you don't like sweet dont try this
Only to be had at a warung in Pati: nasi gandul.
It's rice with meat and a special - somewhat sweet - sauce.
You choose your own piece (or pieces) of meat, which the seller than cuts into smaller pieces with a pair of scissors!
The portions are small, if you are very hungry you may want two portions. But the price too is small, just Rp 8,000.-
We had our nasi gandul at mrs H.A. Warsimin's, recommend by a local acquaintance.
In the evening there are a lot of foodstalls at the town square, but if you want something better, take the escalator up to the Plaza Restaurant. Imagine the service: when we left they switched the escalator from ascending to descending, so we didn't have to walk down the stairs.
The food was good quality and reasonably priced, we had our fill for Rp 80,000.
