Don't be surprised to see a truly double-decker city bus/bis kota in Solo. This useful "bis kota" runs continually from Kartasura in the West, along Jalan Slamet Riyadi (Solo's main street) and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to Palur in the East (about 800 - 1000 Rp).
The minibus station is by Hadiningrat Kraton opposite Pasar Klewer, or flag them down along the main streets. The taxi stand is on Jalan Kratonan in the same area ...
