Sampit Travel Guide

We stumbled into the restaurant in November 2009 on our way to Pangkalan Bun. But it turned out to be a good choice as this small yet clean restaurant offers a lot of Local delicacies. My general comments to food in Kalimantan: go for the local fishes. It's delicious!!!
This restaurant offers grilled fishes (from Kalimantan river) such as Patin, Lais, Baung (not really recommended despite its excellent taste if you like fish without bones), Haruan, Jelawat, Pepuyu and Kalabau. The other cooking style is pepesan: fish or eggs of the fish wrapped in banana leaf, grilled or steamed)..
This place also offers typical vegetable dishes such as sayur santan, sayur nangka, sayur tumbukan daun singkong..
The price is overly cheap.. For three persons in November 09, we paid for Rp 61,000 (or 6 USD)..Wherelse could you get cheaper yet decent food...

Favorite Dish: I really enjoy my grilled patin.. The fat from the fish was so yummy..
