Near the village of Wonosari on Mount Gunung Kawi, 40 km West of Malang, is the tomb of a great Muslim sage, Mbah Jugo, who died in 1871. It has, surprisingly, become a Mecca for non-Muslim Chinese and attracts a regular stream of pilgrims who attend daily prayer sessions. To some Javanese it is known the Chinese bring in a 10$ note and, asking/praying for the tenfold ...

Because of my use of the incense Hio-Harum Gunung Kawi (Cap Buah Thoo) I wanted to visit this area. In spite of my aunts warnings ...

Indeed it was a horrible place! The people dared to ask 40$ per person for entrance, a 10 $ note for parking place, and my aunt told me the place is "empty",... no spirits anymore.

So... you've been warned!

This sign you'll read when approaching the waterfall of Cuban Rondo. It means you better donot get too close to the waterfall, because rocks of stone suddenly could fall down and crash you ... so it is "sangat berbahaya" (very dangerous!).

Soil is in a loose way here and, the same sign you can read anywhere travelling in the mountains. Watch your step, better watch the sign ...

Entering South Coast - Java

Not that bad, but a bit of silly if you don't know!

Whenever you travel to the South Coast of Java, bring some small changes. To enter the area of the Southern Shore you have to pay a ticket. It's a kind of book-keeping I guess. At all paths to the small villages there will be a charge of a small amount. And most of times they don't have change themselves, so donot pay with big notes (mostly it costs about a few hundreds Rupiah's, for now 2 or 3 thousand)

Swimming Prohibited!

When going for a swim, better ask the locals where it is safe to swim. Most of the times >>>

Along the Javanese South-coast all over the Indian Ocean/Southern-Sea it is blowing a gale to the most beautiful beaches and the limestone mountains of the Java-shore. The mass-of-ocean used to be dangerous to life, also because of the undercurrent-powers of enormously pulling, tugging and sucking. Please, watch the signs, and don't go for a swim, every try to take a bath is being

!!!strictly prohibited!!!
