Lake Gunung Tujuh Trekking/Camping

It's reputation as the highest volcanic Lake in South East Asia ( About 2,000 m alt) make the trekking/hiking to this place was so special. Other activities can be done here is camping near by the lake and nature observation. The lake located in village Pelompek. Its just took 2-3 hours easy trekking from the last village to the lake trough nature trail. On way to the peak, there was a tower for observation and taking break. Other available facilities here including visitor huts, orchid garden and as well as elephant attraction at Pelompek.

Hiking Up The Indonesia Highest Active Volcano

Volcano Kerinci is so special as the volcano is the highest active volcano in Indonesia at elevation 3,805 m alt. Its peak is often covered with clouds. Several interesting things to do here are hiking/trekking to it,s peak, camping and photograph capturing. Here,Trekking path has been established, as well as other trekking facilities including interpretation board, some home stay for trekkers in Village Kersik Tuo District Kayu Aro. Lake Gunung Tujuh

Scientifically, this lake was a large creator formed by the collapse of a Volcanic Cone (Caldera). It located at the height of 1.996 m above the sea level and is as the highest take in South East Asia, 4,5 km long and 1,5 km width. Surrounded be 7 mountains with the highest peak of 2.732 m above the sea level. This lake is located within the KSNP area and also as the centre of antropologies diversity. This natural tourism object usually used as camping place for tourist, student, and scientists. The attractive tourism object of this are enveloped by natural beauties of the landscape, twitter and chirp of several bird, and last but not least its fresh and clear air. It located 51 km distance from Sungai Penuh.

Khayangan Park and Tapan Hill

This is a high place where from we can see almost the whole of beautiful and astonishing panorama of Kerinci regency. The lake Kerinci, rice field and villages that spread out along the valley. At mid noon we can here the twitter and chirp of birds and the cry of gibbon, while in the afternoon we can hear the sound of melodious blow of wind. This place is also suitable for hang glider sport and is being developed for hunting area. On the opposite side there is a tourism object called Anjung Banio at the hill Ketanggang near a village called Penawar at the sub districts Sitinjau Laut.

Mount Kerinci

The highest peak in Sumatra with the height of 3.805 m above the sea level, and as one the highest volcano in Indonesia that still active. Its crater is about 500 x 600 m wide and its water that light green and ivory colored. The lowest temperature at the peak is 5°C. At the independent day of the Republic of Indonesia (17th August) the mountain are visited by many mountain climbers from anywhere. To reach the peak 8 to 10 hours are needed there are four shelters. Form the peak we can see an astonishing landscape. The way to mount Kerinci is through a village called Kersik Tuo (Kayu Aro) about 49 km from City Sungai Penuh.

Lake Belibis

A lake with a wide of 2 Ha, located at the height of 1.558 m above the sea level. Lies at the foot of Mount Kerinci an astonishing volcanic take. The forest around is original, never touch by human being and as well as tourism object that attract many visitors. Several kinds of animal come here to drink and this also a place for wild duck (belibis) to assemble. So the people call it Danau Belibis (Lake Belibis). Kerinci Seblat National Park (KSNP) is about 1.286.000 Ha wide and in Kerinci Regency itself has a wide about 215.000 Ha. The central of the very attractive area of this KSNP on behalf are in Kerinci Regency, because in this area found many kinds of tropical biologies and as conservation area and hydrology. In it's dense forest found at least 139 kinds of birds, 36 kinds of mammalians, 10 kinds of reptiles, 6 kinds amphibian, and 6 kinds of primate, of all kinds of these faunas, some of them are well protected from extinction. Such like, Sumatra Rhinocerus (Dicerorhinus Sumatrensis), Wild Goat (Capricornus Sumatrensis), Sumatra Tiger (Phantera Tigris Sumatrensis) and Sumatran Elephant (Elephas Maximus Sumotronsis) Not less attractive that those all, there are many kinds of flora those could reach more than 4.000 species, specialty among them are Pinus Mercury Strain Kerinci, Kayu Pacat...

Carves and Megalithic Stone

Carved stone, “Batu Patah”, and “Batu Gong” are located at Muak village in the sub district Gungung Raya about 23km from Sungai Penuh.This location can be reached by public transport. It is support to the remainder of the very ancient history of the Buddhism culture around the 3rd and the 4th century.There are still another megalithic stone separated around Muak village like Batu Gong, Batu Lesung, Batu Dagu, Batu Patah and Batu Tangkup with mysterious carving. Because of the discovery of these megalithic stone with various kinds of carving motif en believe that the village Muak was the centre of the ancient culture Buddhism.
