si [the] cecep or si asep is the way of sundanese called a boy. just like javanese way to say 'si thole' or betawians saying 'si otong'.
this wooden puppet si cecep or asep is a popular toy for parents to play for their children. sometimes can be used as a trick or tool to make the kids pay more attention: how to keep clean by washing your hands, eat properly etc. even this famous cecep or asep also shown on tv as a "commentator" too!
in kuningan, the craftmen produce si cecep or si asep as souvenir to be taken home. and one of my fellows buy this! funny :) there are two connecting mechanism tool made from bamboo, so si asep or si cecep can give us body language whilst talking to us. including show his tongue!
