Bukit Barisan National Park
Bukit Barisan is a large but little-known national park in southern Sumatra which does not receive many visitors and thus is not really set up for tourism. To enter the park you first have to get a permit from a small town called Kota Agung. Try not to arrive on a Friday afternoon or evening like we did. By the time we got there the office was closed for the weeked, so we ended up hanging around in Kota Agung for a couple of days with not much to do. It's a fishing village, so the people are used to getting up early, and they woke us up at 6:40am to bring us fried rice for breakfast. That was probably the most exciting thing that happened in Kota Agung, other than seeing a dead rat washed up on the beach.

Everyone seemed a bit confused by our presence, as they don't normally receive visitors to the park. Eventually we were able to find someone who spoke English and to communicate what we wanted, and we hired a park ranger named Tori to be our guide in the jungle. The rangers usually spend their time working to conserve the park and to keep out poachers, but Tori was happy to play the role of guide for a change. Bukit Barisan is home to many different species of widlife, and is one of the few places that harbours rhinos, tigers, and elephants in the same area. All we saw though were some monkeys high up in the trees, as well as a few hornbills, which are really big birds.

Fish market
Be sure to check out the fish market while you're in Bandar Lampung. When we were there, there was a fish auction going on, which basically involves a man with a megaphone yelling really loudly for minutes on end without stopping. People were crammed onto the boardwalk and, with the sun going down behind the hills in the background, it was quite beautiful and one of those fantastic scenes of daily life that you hope to see in a place like this.

Not many people speak English here, so if you get lost (which is likely) and are trying to ask directions, you may find the word pelabuhan comes in handy; it means 'harbour,' which is where the fish market takes place.

Pasir Putih mean white sand. This place located 30 km from Bandar Lampung. You can take a bus from Rajabasa bus station to Bakauheni Port, dont forget to ask the driver to stop at Pasir Putih Beach. Its on the right side.

Morning or afternoon, this place always give the different sensation. And I just end up my day in Lampung with after sunset moment in Pasir Putih beach.

There's a star hotel name Bukit Randu. Located at the hills, so private, and expensive also (ahahaha...) From here, you may enjoy night view of the city. The view of Bandar Lampung city light is very beautiful. You can spend a lot of time here, just viewing a sparking light over the city. Nice!

as long as i know, way kambas national park is famous for elephant attractions. such as football and circus. to be honest, i feel so sad since it's something not really nice for those beautiful creatures.
but whenever we visit this place after back from way kanan national park, we find something different. we hear that circus and football are not the main attraction and purpose [we both know .. many indonesians like these :(]. elephants can be trained to help the foresters and farmers from wild elephants attacks and fire. that's great. and the unforgetable moment, in our visit we can cuddle up and playing with jo, a 1 month old baby elephant. he's so naughty but sweet!
