rhinocerus sumatrensis

by ukirsari

visit sumatran rhino sanctuary [srs] was something great for us. especially me, who already dream about a beautiful sumatran rhino called rosa since long time ago.she's a very friendly, who like to mingle with locals [her previous habitat was bukit barisan selatan national park but sometimes going out to villages nearby] and eat candy and several kind of children's snacks :)now rosa is under treatment to be wild again in srs. hoping she'll be okay. we already heard her voice whenever asking to get some fruits from the keeper! she's so lovely!!!

Sunda Straits is situated at Java island at the northwest part and Sumatra Island at the Southern Parts, Actually this is a straits between Java island and Sumatra island. Crossing the straits by Ferry or Speedy Jet Foil when one going to Sumatra from Java vise versa is a unique experience, one can see many small islands in between, the Ferry will take 90 minutes sailing but with speedy Jet foil, it will take only 40 minutes

Fish market

by jungles

Be sure to check out the fish market while you're in Bandar Lampung. When we were there, there was a fish auction going on, which basically involves a man with a megaphone yelling really loudly for minutes on end without stopping. People were crammed onto the boardwalk and, with the sun going down behind the hills in the background, it was quite beautiful and one of those fantastic scenes of daily life that you hope to see in a place like this. Not many people speak English here, so if you get lost (which is likely) and are trying to ask directions, you may find the word pelabuhan comes in handy; it means 'harbour,' which is where the fish market takes place.
