What is Papeda? Papeda is a favored starch in Maluku, along with rice. It is a fine counter balance to all the spicy, rich, and salty foods that make up a meal. Besides papeda, you can also find fresh seafood and another local food that you can order. Don't worry about the price because it's least expensive.
Favorite Dish: Sambal colo-colo is one of the best mixed sauce ever!

There are some nice seafood restaurants to choose. Fresh crab, various fish and lobster are available. From Istana Gurih restaurant, Sari Indah seafood, untill Ratu Gurih restaurant! Lekker!

Around Ambon city it is esay to find Seafood Restaurant or Warung Seafood. Mostly they serve fresh fishes, prawn, squid or even crabs. I've never seen crab as big as i ate in this warung. And it's cheap compared other seafood stall in Jakarta, e.g pecenongan district. This food served with plain rice and sambel colo-colo. Fresh and hot chilli with onion and soya ketchup.
