Eastern Promise: the place to be in Jakarta Eastern

by gwened Written Oct 19, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Well this place is pack, you can choose the various venues Inside. Not easy to take pictures but I try for you ::)

First start with the bar upfront entrance, to relax and get some drinks on your body. Then move over to the sports bar on the right hand side, huge screen TV with more drinks. Then move back into the restaurant in the back for a delicious local meal, and if you think you are done, no way, head for the very end with a live music dance floor with an open roof to the moon to kill for.

Plenty of attractions all around you and great company no hassles and good prices, safe. Enjoy Jakarta at kemang.

Dress Code: casual is fine, in fact better

Tourist Hotels: Not Wise to Party Hardy Here

by lmkluque Updated Nov 25, 2012

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Though Indonesia is a country with 95% Muslim population there are night spots in the usual sense located in many of the biggest hotels. In the village areas nightlife usually consists of socializing at home or visiting friends.

While here, I found that restaurants are the most popular nightlife spots. Also that it is much easier to "live with the locals" here by staying away from the bars.nightclubs.

Dress Code: Modesty is always expected and since these hotels are often times the Five Star variety you'll want to look your best.

    KUDETA: Nightlife in Bali

by dianinparis Updated Apr 16, 2007

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I usually go to the center stage at the Hard Rock Hotel Kuta or The Kama Sutra just opposite the Kuta beach. They have live music performances.

You must also go to double six beach area. There are plenty of cool restaurants, bars and discos

Do not forget to visit KUDETA for the sexy and cool ambience. Kudeta is located at Oberoi area close to seminyak. I would recommend you to have dinner at one of the resto in Oberoi.

Dress Code: Very, Very Casual, but try to look nice and sexy still...

Via Via café.: Activities in Yogyakarta ViaVia café.

    by EricLe_Rouge Updated Oct 5, 2002

    Activities in ViaVia Yogyakarta:
Besides a fresh drink, a nice meal,
not only dEUS but Indonesian ska as well,
lots of travel information and chitchat,
Via Via Yogyakarta offers something extra to the essentials of a travellers café.

You like bicycling and wonder what a bent back and mud between your toes, while planting rice, feels like?
Or do you rather prefer the dark magic of caves; or are you a more romantic type, prepared to surprise your beloved with a selfmade silver ornament; or do you enjoy massage, herbeoils and facial masks; are you a temple freak, an ambitious cook, a fanatic walker, ….?

Via Via Yogyakarta offers many activities bringing the country closer to you.
Or you closer to the country.

by lobstop Written Sep 8, 2002

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The place our guide sent us had the name GadoGado and was located right at the beach.
It is a pretty nice club with good music and always fresh air, because the fasade to the ocean is open, so that there is always a cool brise.
The unique quality is the location right at the beach. You can hear the curls when the music stopps for a second.

    Most of the nightlife...

by sandravdp Written Sep 7, 2002

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Most of the nightlife concentrates itself in Kuta. Many discos and bars are to be found here. In the more quiet place Sanur at the beach are not many discos, but many life music and night dances to be seen and heard.
On the picture: the nightly firedance.

The best spot for night life is probably Bali at least if you are interested in all the night life activites you are used to. Not that Jakarta or Ygya do not offer any place where to dance or else, it's just that Bali is the most touristically developed, so it is definitly the place for nightlife.

    Ramayana Ballet

by Sharrie Updated Aug 31, 2002

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

My friend Geraldine and I happened to visit Yogya during the dry season and were lucky enough to attend the performances (only 4 successive nights; twice each month from May to Oct. yearly) of the Ramayana Ballet held at the outdoor theatre in Prambanan and it certainly is the most spectacular dance-drama I've ever seen. With the Shiva Temple as a backdrop, the 3-hr ballet performance from 7-10pm comprised of more than 100 dancers and gamelan musicians taking part in a spectacle depicting the story of Rama, a gentle husband, a kindly king and his wife Sita.
