    Si Gale Gale puppet

Visit, midway going up the hill to the tomb of King Sidabutar, houses in traditional Batak architecture.

You can find a life-sized puppet there called "Si Gale Gale" which can be moved by levers from behind.

It was said that before Christianity came to Samosir Island the people practiced Animism and, legend says, they can move those puppets with their minds.

    Cannibal King's table

Most of the people would, of course, recommend the tomb of the Batak King, the megalithic tables of the "cannibal" King, the hot springs etc... I would definitely recommend to enjoy the company of the locals... find a nice cafe, sit around with them and sing a song.... most of them just love music and harmony. If there is a guitar available ask them to play a tune for you, you will be amazed!
