I don't know what this leaf is but in the Yalimo people rub it all over their bodies to treat aches and pains. I tried to pick it up and it caused an acute burning sensation, so much so that I had to drop it immediately. It also bought me out in a rash. Somehow it didn't have the same effect on the Yalis!
These p*nis gourd that is the traditional "clothing" of the West Papuan Highlanders. They vary in style from place to place. Koteka is actually a word from the west Highlands that has become a common way to referring to it in Bahasa Baru, or "New Language". Each group of people has its own word for the thing in their own language.

People believe strongly in this. In the Yalimo I was told that people from the Kimyal and Mek areas can get inside your stomach and make you ill, and that they can change into birds and snakes.
