Between Kri and Misool is also good snorkelling with turtles, easy to walk or swim until there, but be careful there are sometimes very strong currents!

Cape Kri, the eastern end of Kri you see a very big variety of fish and corals, you can do this also by yourself by walking or swimming along the beach to the place.

Manta slope is a must see, there is a quite strong current, divers will be hooked to the ground maybe 10 to 15 meter deep. If you snorkel and there is not much current you will see almost as much as the divers but not very much if there is a very strong current, the boat will drop you in the shallow water, pick you up when you are in the deep water and bring you back to the shallow water. Visibility is because of plankton not good.
When I was there, according to the divemaster there where 14 and the next time 22 mantas.

Sunday is a day without any activities in the Yenkoruna resort and most likely in most of the other places as well as the Protestant Church is very strong on these islands.
If you want you can go with them to church in the next village, Yenbuba in Misool, quite interesting, but the sermon takes very long (over 1 hour). Otherwise you can snorkel by yourself or read a book (there is a small book exchange).

The Passage, the channel between Gam and Waigeo has a wonderful limestone landscape, strange looking nudibranches, but also very strong currents.

Favorite thing: When you arrive by boat in Wasai there is a waiting hall close to the pier with a tourist office and some little shops.
The tourist office does its best to sort out probable booking problems or help you to find a accommodation. They also sell the National Park tag, 1000000 Rupies, since 1. 2. 2015, valid for 1 year.

Favorite thing: For accommodation have a look at www.stayrajaampar/accommodation it doesn't show all the accommodations but it gives a good overview.
In case you run out of money, there is now a ATM in Wasai. In Sorong airport only one of several ATM's was working and only 1250000 Rupies!

Update about the plane to Waisai. Now they fly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

BTW, the plane flies further North, to Kabare. North Waigeo is an unexplored area, even more amazing than its South counterpart. If you want to visit it, contact Papa Soleman: http://papasoleman.wordpress.com/
