Old Town White Coffee: Authentic and western dishes galore!
Having seen this Malaysian chain before, i was never able to try it out until i visited New World park in Penang. Od Town While Coffee is the first shop on your left as you enter the New world premises. It has a nice open air atmosphere and lovely music you can chill out to.
The array of dishes offered were limited, but we could not decide between a few choices. They all seemed Delicious!
Finally me and Nishi settled for the Ginger Chicken rice and the Chicken meatloaf noodles. Definitely the right choice.
Price range is between MYR 6.50 and 13 per dish. Not the cheapest option in Penang for a meal. But hey... All good things come at a price ;-) Do try it ut if in Malaysia anytime in the future!:-)
Favorite Dish: Ginger Chicken Rice - I Love the fusion of flavours of chillie and Ginger blended with soft, boneless chicken and fluffy white rice.
Pulau Penang Transportation
While you're in Pg, make sure to take a slow ride around town in a trishaw (or beca (pr. 'bay-cha' in malay). Here's an idea ...an old man pedaling a trishaw under the shade of a plastic umbrella; it usually seats 2, or 1 large 'ang moh' (aka Westerner) almost at street level, open air. If you can stomach some exhaust fumes, it offers great views (w/o walking) and you can get a taste of the local life at a leisurely pace. It's a dying 'craft' though...unfortunately.
