by ukirsari

'Pujasera' acronym from Pusat Jajan Serba ada or Gourmet Garden. If you just have a little time to have eating, but wants to try many Indonesian cuisines, I suggest you to go to Pujasera. In an open area, there are many Indonesian foods you can choose in minutes. You can find Pujasera almost in every mall in the cities. And not only specialized in Indonesian, they have pizza, Japanese, Thailand, Singapore and Korean foods also. * Soto Kudus (light chicken soup), Soto Sulung (liver and mutton soup), Pecel Lele (fried or grilled catfish with belacan sauce), Pepes Teri (steamed anchovy), Pepes Jamur (steamed mushroom), Sate Padang (grilled meat in coconut sauce), Gudeg (jackfruit served with coconut milk), Sayur Asem (sour and spicy soup vegetables), Coto Makassar (meat and mouton soup a la Celebes), Ayam Bakar (grilled chicken with soya sauce), Ayam Taliwang (grilled chicken serving with...

by ukirsari

Indonesia has many types of cuisines. Every island, every ethnic, every city has their own. And sometimes blended with Dutch, English or Chinese cooking styles as a heritage from our past. So you can imagine how rich we are in culinary.Big crabs with great sauce. Yummy and tasteful .... Normally, Indonesian cuisine serving with steamed rice. And banana's leaves are well-known here to wrap many items of food or rice. I do like to smell it ... Here I give you examples about delicious and famous foods. From Yogyakarta, you can try 'Gudeg' (young jack fruit served with coconut milk). Bandung or west Java known with their 'pepes' (fish, shrimps or tofu steamed in banana's leaves), Surabaya has famous 'Pecel Lele' (grilled or fried catfish, served with belacan sauce or sambal terasi) and Bebek Goreng (just like Peking duck but much oily), meanwhile Padang has 'Rendang' (meat in chili and...

All the food in Bali is an...

by Geisha_Girl

All the food in Bali is an epicurean delight! The flavors and the aromas are like no other place in the world. I never had a bad meal on the island! My favorite spot for dining is right on the beach in Jimbaran. There is a stretch of beachfront property where local restaurantaurs set up make-shift dining areas and serve some of the yummiest grilled Indonesian dishes on the island! They have fresh seafood grilled and serve it up with salads, rice, and spicy side dishes. The first year I went was when the US dollar was extremely strong. A whole lobster dinner costs a mere $13 USD!What made this area so unique was that it was right on the beach, so your feet is buried in the sand while you dine and watch the sunset on the ocean! My favorite Indonesian dishes are the Nasi Goreng, Gado Gado (steamed vegetables with a peanut sauce), satay, and any grilled, spicy seafood!

Bumbu Bali at Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua.Typical Balinese architecture with relaxed atmosphere. Run by a Swiss chef there is also a cookery school attached and a turtle rescue sanctuary! Try the Bali Rijstaffel (Rice Table) but you must include Beef Rendang.

Gotta go with Warung 96 on Poppies Lane in Kuta. It always ends up being 'the usual' for the travellers who are familiar. You might have to wait for your table, but the good music, friendly waitresses, and eye-candy patrons always keep you coming back! margharita pizza, garlic fish, fresh fruit drinks

There are several restaurants in Batam. My favorite type of restaurant there was the kind where you choose the fish you wish to eat. You can find a lot of those along the coastline.Eating seafood by the ocean with the great weather of the South Pacific. Ah, heaven on Earth. SHRIMP! Shrimp, delicious. Excellent. Mmm. Shrimp.

by eManWithG

Sumatra has a wealth of natural resources and wildlife, massive rivers like muddy facsimiles of the Amazon, and some interesting architecture. It is almost four times the size of neighbouring Java, but supports less than a quarter of the population. During Dutch rule, it provided the world with large quantities of oil, rubber, pepper and coffee, and these seemingly inexhaustible resources continue to prop up the Indonesian economy today. Sumatra is home to a number of different races and peoples: the former head-hunters and cannibals of the Batak regions; the matrilineal Muslim Minangkabau and the primitive groups of the Mentawai Islands.

Jimbaran Bay, I think it's called, it was on of the best dinner we had, in front of the ocean with one of the most beautiful sunsets, I've seen. We had from lobster to prawns, different kinds of fish, clams, rice, soup, salad, BEER of course except the pregnant, which it was me!! :-( it was definately one of the best dinners we had and the most expensive which it wasn't that much, around 50.00 US (not bad)

I really enjoyed going to Mango's on the beachfront. They have GREAT pizzas there, but the main attraction is the music, service and you can sit right on the water's edge.Music, fun and good food. No favourite - I love trying all kinds of food, but I loved the fish.
