Pekanbaru Nightlife

  • by uwo Written Feb 8, 2009

Love the setting and colours of the sunset whilst enjoying a cool drink. When the night appears with the twinkling stars shinning on the wide sea... its so romantic.

Dress Code: Optional, however, dont forget a jacket, cause the wind is blowing and it gets chilly, barefoot to the beach and enjoy the feeling of the water touching your feet.

Pekanbaru Transportation

  • Fly Air Asia to Pekanbaru

Air Asia operates flights from Kuala Lumpur to Pekanbaru. The fares are cheap and it only takes 45 mins. The airport at Pekanbaru is very small with very limited facilities. No duty free shops that I could see.

  • Garuda Indonesia

I took Garuda Airlines from Padang to Pekanbaru (transit) before continuing my journey to Singapore. Overall, I am satisfied with the flight - no delay and good in flight service. Highly recommend Garuda Airlines to others.

Pekanbaru Local Customs

  • Traditional Wedding

963 This is a traditional Riau wedding whereby the couple will dress up and walk through the village and be greeted by chirpy Indonesian music. The couple will also be treated like king and queen for the day. This ceremony may continue for the next few days.

  • True Hospitality

I have never experience true hospitality from the heart before until I visited this area of Indonesia. This is a place where I would go back for more great hospitality. The locals are extremely friendly and they are very willing to help one another.
