Batam is well known for his nightspot with many girlie bars and joints. If you want to have fun and plan to pick up women, you can do it few ways:
1. Go to a pub, discotheque or lounge. You can easily chat up girls. Be careful though, these girls can cut ur throat literally. It is dangerous to pick up girls from these joints as some of them is from syndicate. How does it works? Well, you get this nice pretty girl and bring her back your hotel and do what you supposed to do. Half way, someone will knock at your door and if you opened up, a man claiming to be your girl's husband will confront you for having fun with his wife. You will end up thousands of dollars poorer. Other tactics include getting police to catch you, forcing you the "marry" the girl for huge sume of monies. Many foreigners get into such trouble. So beware.
2. Get your taxi driver to bring you to a Cewek joint. As you pay for the servie, you don't get into the above trouble. Only problem is you may get STD and HIV. So please take precaution.
Also don't call the same cewek too many times 'cos once they know you well enough, they will want you to be their "abang" and start asking you for more money.
