Once you move into the suburbs of Dabo town, you will be able to see many traditional "kampung" village houses along the roads and paths. These are made from wood and many of them have large compounds. Other than houses, you will see schools, mosque etc and this is really a very good and first-hand experience of authentic lifestyle in the Lingga Archipelago. The best ways to experience this is to take a motorcycle ride or ride a bicycle.
