Indonesian restaurants: prices meals and drinks

by kilat

What prices can you expect in Java? A meal will cost in an Indonesian restaurant or a basic Indonesian hotel between 7.000 and 15.000 Rp. Cola/fanta/milk/coffee/tea will cost between 2.500 and 6.000 Rp. Padang food (a lot of plates on your table), will cost more. It depends on how many plates you eat from. You don't have to order if it is a Padang restaurant (spicy!), they put all the plates at the table at ones.If you go to a restaurant for tourists or a western styled hotel, you might pay twice as much (or more). If the rooms are more expensive, the food is more expensive too. (Prices in 2008).Notice: nasi (nasi putih)= white rice, nasi goreng = baked rice, ayam = chicken, eg = telur, salt = garam, baked = goreng, bread = roti, soup = soto, coffee = kopi, tea = teh, sweet = manis, with suger/milk = pakai gula/susu, without sugar/milk/ice = tanpa gula/susu/es.

If you are not picky, then you can try every food sold by street vendors and small local coffee shops on every inch of Tg. Pinang's map.
