General tip - Terrorism
The terrorist bomb blasts which happened twice at Bali island and once at Jakarta had shocked the world and shows that terrorism is active in Indonesia despite efforts from the Indonesian government to tackle the problem. Do be careful, especially crowded places with lots of tourist. It is best to check the news or alerts from the embassy before going for the trip, but do not let this deter you from visiting the beautiful tropical island archepalego of Indonesia (including Riau province).(Information transferred from my previous VT Indonesia page)
