At Niki-Niki the intercity buses from Kupang to Atambua make their only rest stop. Which means there are a few restaurants catering for the passengers.
We dropped in hungry at Rumah Makan 'Antika' on our way back from Boti village, and found their nasi rendang (rice with meat and veggies) surprisingly tasty.

Craving for seafood? It is available in Soe although you are far from the sea.
We had ikan bakar (no idea what kind of fish) at Warung Sari Laut near the market. Not cheap, Rp 35,000 per person for the fish only, but well prepared. They also have sate and various other dishes on the menu.

Rumah Makan 'Amertha Boga' is run by a Balinese family and offers cheap and tasty Javanese food.
Like Depot Joy the RM Amertha Boga is located on Jalan Gajah Mada, but closer to the city centre.
Favorite Dish: Nasi rendang Rp 8,000, nasi pecel Rp 7,000, nasi soto ayam Rp 10,000, nasi goreng Rp 9,000

We were staying close to Hotel Bahagia Dua, and Depot Joy right across the road became our favourite to have our meals. The depot offers the usual mi, nasi and capcay dishes, but also sate babi and babi kecap. The restaurant is clean and the food is good value for money.
We were pleasantly surprised when we ordered iced orange juice for the second time, they had remembered "not too much sugar, ma´am?¨
Typical prices: mi kuah/goreng Rp 15,000, nasi goreng Rp 14,000, sate babi 6 sticks Rp 13,000, iced lemon juice Rp 4,000.
Favorite Dish: Everything, except the sop brenebon (brown bean soup), because we could count the beans in the soup.
