Ampera is stands from Amanat Penderitaan Rakyat --the way our former President Soekarno speaking about his people: anything have to be given to the nations. Including building a monumental bridge; dedication for the prosperity of the people in Palembang.
This is a gigantic bridge which built by 114 Japanese based an order from President Soekarno in preparing the War of East Asia [Perang Asia Timur Raya] at 1942. Then, it's inaugurated at 1964 and that moment became the longest bridge in Southeast Asia :)
