Welcome to Jakarta and believe me you will get a lot of fun.If you're looking for a cheap good hotel,you can book hotel Bintang Griya wisata > the room rates include continental breakfast will be arround USD 32.00/room/night; do you need a private car/van at dispossal with an experience schauffer? you can have it with only USD 60.00/Day (10 hours).
There are a lot of interesting places for you to visit such as: Ancol Beach with its Ocean Theme Parks, Fantasi Land, Art Market, Sea world etc.. Or you can visist the Beatiful Indonesia in Miniature where you can admire the Indonesian 27's tribe houses from East Sumatra to West Irian.
If you are the shopper, there are a lot of places where you can do the shopping spree such as: ITC Mangga Dua Super Mall (Groceries), WTC Mangga Dua (Best Quality goods)or Sogo-Senayan for branded stuffs.
Do you like to enjoy Jakarta's night life..? simply Just walking to the Mangga Besar area,then explore it by yourself.
If you are a golfer, just bring your golf bag and enjoy your tee-off either in Jakarta or in its neighborhood Bogor. The green fees will be arround USD 70.00/for 18 holes including Green fees, caddy and golf cart (buggy).

Favorite thing: visit Taman Impian Jaya Ancol. there are sea world -- you can see dolphins here, dunia fantasi (somewhat like 'Disneyland.') diving is possible here! :)))
another is ISTANA BONEKA ('doll palace') where we can surf into the 'palace' by boating in a man-made canal, while looking at dolls from all countries over the world on left and right side of the canal...
