Here are the list of shopping mall in Jakarta that are worth visiting :)
West Jakarta
Mall Taman Anggrek ( 5 storey building with 7 tower apartement above it, their stores included Zara, Next, Guess, Giordano n SnK with Parisian Dept. Store). They have ice skating arena inside the mall.
Central Jakarta
* Plaza Indonesia ( An upscale mall in Indonesia selling almost all of the top brand like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, etc, etc)
* Plaza Senayan (like Mall Taman Anggrek but more branded items and more restaurants)
* Senayan City (located in front of plaza senayan, new opened mall n have a many international cuisine choices of restaurant)
* Seibu Mall
* Grand Indonesia
* Pacific Place - Mall that are connected to Ritz Carlton, Newly build hotel.
* fX Mall Entertainment Center - Probably the most happening Mall in Indonesia. They have a cool slider that you all must try. It slides from 6th to 1st floor in the counts of minutes. All of the shops there sells very unique items included Doggydolly shoppe, the only dog's fashion boutique in Indonesia.
North Jakarta
Mall Kelapa Gading 1,2,3,5 n La Piazaa ( 4 buildings of mall that are connected into 1. You can have experience of dining outside with many resto choices in La Piazza.
Mall of Indonesia
Mall Artha Gading
Tangerang (further west jakarta)
Supermall Karawaci (the only mall that has roller coaster inside it with big arcade theme-park below it)
What to buy: Almost anything from shoes, clothes, CD, books, furniture and even a whole theme-park

To people who like to get anything at cheaper price n very good at bargaining, then these are the right place to go. These 6 places are the central of wholesale for the rest of other retailer in Indonesia n some are even for foreigner.
Pasar Pagi Proyek
There are so many small both below the bridge but other are located in the central building that looks like a Chinese temple. They sell many things from mostly Stationary, Party products, into textile n garment accessories.
Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua
The 1st floor is mostly stationary, n clothes, 2nd - 3rd floor is mostly clothes, jeans, earring, necklace, etc. with 4th floor is for garment accessories n lace
ITC Mangga Dua
Here is the heaven for shopper, very cheap price n many variety of fake bags, pirate-DVD, clothes, jeans, earring, necklace, sunglasses, hat, and anything you can name it in the fashion sense. But don't expect good quality. All of them probably made in china.
This building is connected to other 2 building who sells Computer (Harco Mas) n a 3 stars Hotel (Dusit THani)
HArco Mas
A Central district of Wholesale n Retail for COmputer related items. From Build-up computer to Digital Camera.
Roxy Mas
A Central district of Wholesale n Retail for Cell-Phone related items. From new, used, to Black Market items.
Tanah Abang (the wholesale of wholesale market)
some even said that seller from MAngga dua n Pasar Pagi buy their products here. Its a very crowded and the building scattered all over the place. No place for retailer.

Senayan City is the more upscale mall in the senayan area. Comparitively to Plaza Indonesia, it is way much bigger. Opposite this mall there is also 3 other malls which is attached together, the first two in Sogo and also Metro but I forgot which is the last one...

i'm not sure if there is a batik center in jakarta which could provide ur own design in large quantities, but it could b in pekalongan, solo, jogja or cirebon
but yet, u could learn about batik canting @ museum textile on KS Tubun sreet and by amount of batik @ tanah abang
u should haggle @ tanah abang but not @ pasaraya

This mall is really something. I am really amazed by the amount of stores/shops that they can squeeze into this mall. Its so packed that you will get into a human traffic jam almost at every turn. Its a very low end mall and the choices are galore but I am not really into really cheap stuffs so I just went in to enjoy the chaotic atmosphere.

Taman Puring is basically a clothing market, where people who own clothing shops purchase clothing to then resell. The clothes are much much cheaper than those at shopping malls (and even those are cheap in comparison to clothing prices in new zealand) - for example, I purchased an adidas tshirt in a mall for about 130000 (approx 20 NZD) whereas at Taman Puring I got one for around 30000 (approx 4 NZD). Also, do not be afraid to bargain...sellers are often ready to sell clothing at much lower prices than their original offer.
If you'd rather go to a shopping mall though, a cheaper one would be Manga Dua. ^ ^

This place is just a mini version of ITC Mangga Dua except that this place is also flooded with telecommunication shops/stores selling from mobile phones to new calling cards and reloads. Perfect place to strike a bargain if you are looking for some telecommunication goods.

This mall houses some of the big brands around the world like Versace and such. Its a very high end mall and prices are steep. If you are looking for some branded stuff, this is the place to go.
Plaza Indonesia is interlinked with Ex - Plaza.

Ex - Plaza has got a slightly higher range stuffs and also more trendy items. Here you will find where most youth will hang out. Good place to do some shopping...

Plaza Sarinah have a good selection of goods to buy. If you are looking for some souvenirs, go to the 5th and 6th floor where you can find a good range of local souvenirs and batik products. Products here are mid range pricing.
