If you done visiting downtown. You can go to Muara Karang Fish market located in North Jakarta. You better go in the afternoon or diner time when fresh fish just unloading from the boat. It is interesting busy main fish market in town. You better use short and sandals since it is wet and often flooding surface, it is not the most clean and hygienic place on earth, not to mention fish smell. Go watch fish trading and you can always buy fish or shrimps or anything you like and bring your fish to local barbeque restaurant near by fish market. There are more than dozens, but I always go to the upfront fish restaurant called Sedap Malam, it is easy to find from the parking place. They have awesome mango chilly and other various chilly made from peanut, soy-bean and tomatoes and fresh chili, shrimp paste.

The national monuments is one of Jakarta's landmark. You could take an elevator in the monument to have a bird-eye view of Jakarta. The elevator could take 11 people, but there is one man operate it, sit in an office-chair that made a quite big different on the capacity. Please be aware that on weekend or public holiday, the queque is long. On the summit, there is no place to sit down, people could only be able to stand to enjoy the view.
A museum where history showed in dioramatic scene is available on the underground level.

This open-air museum was a cemetery. Many years ago, the government ask the inheritance of the death to move their relatives remains, keep the tombstone and publish this place as a museum. But then, not of all remains was able to be removed, some are still lies there.
The cemetery particularly was for the Dutch. No wonder, there are lots of angel statue, bible-like, church-like tombstone other that the big tombstone with "Here Lies..." on it. The tombstone of Mr. Roll, the founder of Stovia the first medicine school in Indonesia lies here. There were also the tombstones of some famous pastors here. Two of Indonesian tombs was here ~~Gie, the activites and Miss Ribut, the singer.
This park-cemetery-museum usually a great location for photographer and models to wary around :)

A walking distance from Maritime Museum is the Menara Syahbandar. This is a five-storey tower, was built at about the same time with the Maritime Museum. From the windows of the tower, the harbour-master could see the harbour and make necessary arrangement for enter-exit of the ships.
Now, the tower is a part of the maritime museum. On its wall hang a lot of pictures of the harbour and ships from the old days.
Some cannon was kept and displayed at the front yards of the tower.
