A nice little restaurant. The name says Tokyo, it is billed as chinese food but it is mostly good Indonesian food. Not too fancy inside but good lighting, very clean, many waitresses and ac.
This is a great local restaurant which is a big step above a warung.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is Mie Jamur because i like muchrooms but you can get frog, nasi, shrimp, and fish.

Zangrandi is the oldest ice cream cafe in Surabaya. I remember that once I was a kid, my parent would take me to Zangrandi to eat ice cream.. so the place is full of memories. Nowadays you can find Zangrandi also in a mall, but i prefer to eat Zangrandi ice cream at the first outlet, which has been there for more that 50 years when the Dutch still ruling in Indonesia.
Favorite Dish: Macedonia Ice Cream.. yummy.. chocolate chip ice cream poured with some liquor..

Kepiting Pak Gundul is locate at Kupang Jaya street. It's not a big restaurant, just enough maybe for 30 - 50 person. It's enough comfortable even sometimes not, just when they're so crowded.
This place just sell seafood but the most popular here is kepiting (crab).
I suggest don't eat there at weekend. You will not get any sit and you will need to queue for a little bit long.
Favorite Dish: Kepiting asam manis is sooo...deliciousss...!! Really! You can also try cumi - cumi mentega. But you can also try another dish too.

Oba restaurant is locate at Supermal Pakuwon Indah near Pakuwon Regency. It`s a good Japanese restaurant. It`s comfortable place for eating. Especially the food. I guess it`s far better than any Japanese restaurant in Surabaya, except at Hyatt`s Hotel of course
Favorite Dish: I recommended Duck Hobayaki and Unagi curry Rice. Both of them are the delicious food in there. The taste is so originally Japanese.

Pecel is one of Indonesian local food. You should try it at least once.
One of my fave place to buy pecel is Pecel Bu Kus. It's not a big restaurant, maybe maximum capacity of the restaurant is for 20-30 persons. But it's a famous local restaurant, some Indonesian celebrities have visited Pecel Bu Kus.
Favorite Dish: Nasi pecel with the extras like chicken, fermented soybean cake, fried fish, etc
You can choose what you want from the menu.

Sarkies restaurant in the magnificent Hotel Majapahit Mandarin Oriental takes one back in time to the colonial era and is reminiscent of the settings described by Somerset Maugham in his writings.
Ceiling fans, antique clocks and ornamentation from the 20s and 30s make this a memorable dining experience.
Favorite Dish: Emphasising seafood, this restaurant serves creative dishes from Asia: Hong Kong and mainland Chinese, Vietnamese, Singaporean.
Try their delicious Vietnamese beef - probably the most tender beef I've ever had - anywhere.
They have tanks of live seafood offrering too many species to mention.
There is a wine list, or you can bring your own (corkage charged).

A stylish restaurant serving dishes from North and South India.
Authentic, and beautifully served.
Note: This restaurant serves mild curries to Westerners unless you ask for hotter ones as you are seated.
Favorite Dish: Excellent meat and vegetable dishes. Their lamb is particularly tender and succulent. An interesting array of dhals.
