Java: Cikembulan: A Beautiful Deserted Beach

by jungles

Pangandaran is a low-key resort on the south coast of Java, and Cikembulan is 5km west of the resort. There is a well-known backpacker's guesthouse here called the Delta Gecko Village, which is right next to a river delta that flows into the ocean, so you have the option of swimming in the river or the sea. The beach is lovely and secluded; the only other people there will be the other guests at Delta Gecko Village and maybe the occasional fisherman. There are several interesting daytrips to be made from here, such as Citumang Dam and the Green Canyon. For more info, see the tips on my Pangarandan page.

West Java Province

by blue_sky04

Some of the interesting objects in West Java are:- The city of Bandung. It's the capital of West Java Province, one of my favorite cities in Indonesia. The city offers natural beauties, unique architectures, as well as shopping paradise (for the shopping lovers)- The Palace in Bogor- Mt Tangkuban Perahu- Taman Safari Indonesia

Jakarta!

by lmkluque

Jakarta, located on the island of Java, is the capital of Indonesia, and it is one of the most populated cities of the world. These facts play a part in the fantastic contrast of the city. Java, a word at once familiar and exotic. Java, the name we give to coffee, because some of the best tasting coffee in the world comes from Java. It seems that most vacationers travel to the tropical exotic island of Bali. However, Jakarta is surrounded by the tropical, exotic flora and fauna found throughout the 17,000 islands that make up the country of Indonesia and can be seen as soon as the plane lands at the airport or while driving just outside the city. Jakarta is full of five star hotels--at least I was told that they were five star hotels. There is a huge financial district. International banking is so plentiful that the banks offer rewards and incentives to entice customers to join them or...

Craft Villages

by AliJoe

As a tourist center,BUKIT TINGGI boasts a multitude of craft, souvenir, jewelry and antique shops. Oh..oh don't forget to bargain...but smile. Some are really over priced, others are reasonable. No harm move a round, find out which shop is cheaper. They have a specific craft villages. PANDAISIKAT - has woodcarving, fine furniture, loom weaving and embroidery work. AMPEK ANGKEK - known for it's embroidery work and crochet work. DESA SUNGA - center for brasswork. KOTOBARU - produces handwoven gold threaded weaving. Don't forget to bargain..lah.The MALAYSIAN say 'They axe your head'

Taman Safari Indonesia

by lmkluque

Taman Safari is a cross between an amusement park, and a zoo. Located near the city of Bogor, it is not far from Jakarta and an excellent day trip, especially for families traveling with children. It offers an open space for animals to roam free. Free enough to walk up to the car window and stick their head in. In San Diego we have the Wild Animal Park which offers a tram ride throughout the park to see the animals in their natural habitat, but the animals in San Diego could never get this close to any visitor!

Special place- Selamat Datang in Jakarta

by ullfri49

Here is seen the Selamat Datang Monument in Jakarta at evening. The place is a station of Transjakarta and so well nown as "Halte Bunderan HI".The Place around of Selamat Datang is (from my view) a quite shure place for tourist, and if you are together (not alone), it is able to sit at the free heaven of Jakarta at the nearby spring beneath the Hyatt until evening real outside. And inside the great Sogo mall nearby you can find a lot of very good restaurants(see more at "Jakarta" site)

Honeymoon

by euskaldun

Bali is not more overrun with tourists than most of Thailand, so if you love Thailand, Bali might float your boat as well. In such a short time, you would not have time to do much, but apart from Lombok (which I would skip as it is quiet similar to Bali but much calmer), the easiest island to visit from Bali would be Java (fly to Jogyakarta, where you can explore Borobudur and Prambanan temple compound, and tehn proceed to Mt. Bromo and its amazing landscapes). I also loved a cruise to the the Lesser Sonda Islands in a small schooner to see the Komodo dragons. There are several tour operators that organize it from Bali, but I am not sure whether it would be ideal for a honey-moon.

Golf Outing - Bintan Indonisa

by acommon1

Want to visit a nice little island? You have to visit Bintam. Not far from Singapore. You can take a high speed boat from on of the Eastern Singapore ports. Takes just about an hour or two. Can be a bumpy. While heading out you'll see all the transportation ships awaiting approval to dock and unload their load. While heading out, I was amazed at all the sea traffic. With all the movement, no one rammed into each other. A large number of ships were anchored. Huge ships. But, we safely move thru all the anchored ships.Consider visiting one of Indonesian islands. The golfing is exciting. Service unbelievable. You'll connect with some really nice Aussies and Kiwis. Of course, I journeyed solo. I was paired with tow great guys from Down-Under. We had a blast. The golf course was so green. You'd be amazed.Watch-outs? Well, the course(s) have monkeys and snakes (i.e. cobras). This is enough to...

Try to see Javas Vulcanos from Airplane

by ullfri49

The first approach to Jakarta and Indonesia by air seems differents from other flights cause the international routes go usually at greater hight and mostly over sea.But if you take a domestic flight- here at seen photo the view at right hand in the morning from Bandung to Surabaya. You will near the half way usually enjoy Javas great volcanos one by another over the clouds.By the way I´m myself was not real shure, which of the so many volcanos I had seen at photo - from the form it could be the massiv near Yogyakarta, but now in remembering I am shure this was the Bromo volcano massiv!

NORTH SUMATRA, MEDAN & LAKE TOBA

by meiyergani

North Sumatra with the capital city MEDAN is also one of Indonesian tourist destination. Medan is Indonesian third big city, from Medan to the south, one could find PARAPAT, a tourist resort popular with its LAKE TOBA and SAMOSIR island. Other than this, one could explore North Sumatra by land trip to Brastagi, a mountain resort, or to Balige a fascinating beauty of agriculture land as a Southern part of Lake Toba, then to a small town Sibolga, a gateway to NIAS island where some people enjoy a great sea surfing.
