D'ont be affraid to negotiate prices with local beach sellers as they will start off with a high price and avoid making promises to buy clothes, jewellery for the next day because they will come looking for you
If you go to places where it many tourist, then you must think about:First, the people is very nice, but in this places they just whant to make money. So if you not whatch yourself then you lose your money.
If you do travel around Bali on a organized coach trip then be prepared to be taken to every tourist trap ther is.You'll be taken up to the Volcano and dropped in a coach park where all the local hawkers will jump on you from a great height. There will be no escape, and it can really ruin your day. The same goes for any place that coach tours take you, be prepared or even better don't go on the coach trip, hire a local driver.

The north and east coast of Bali are often overlooked but they too offer some fantastic vacation time. Getting there from the south involves climbing the backbone of the island along spectacular back to back sweeping bends up and through the mountains. The views looking down on the north coast are simply breathtaking and you get some impression of just how big the rock you're on really is.

Monkey forest in Bali. You pay to get in and buy bananas. The are cute, but rude :) I suddenly felt a small hand in my pocket looking for bananas. -Why is this a trap? Because the monkies are all over up in the mountains.

Though a stop at the equator is actually pretty fun it is still a toursit trap. Kids wait around near the big blue earth ball to sell you shirts saying 'I crossed the equator'. Snap your picture and leave!Pictured here is my Dutch friend Alex.

Kuta village is not like anywhere else in Bali. Get out of Kuta as soon as possible and get to Ubud or any of the northern beaches. The hawkers, touts, drunken Aussies, motorcycles, and drunken Aussies on motorcycles make this the antithesis of all things Balinese.

“Excuse me. You wanna’ buy a watch?”“Okay, okay. I give you good price.”“Transport? Where you going?”“Halo. I give you good massage. No problem.”“Looking, looking? You want come look in my store?”“Which watch you like? I give you good price.”“Special price for you. Cheap, cheap.”“Halo. Come look inside.”Somewhere underneath a torrent of hecklers, lies the beach resort of Kuta. Rather than exemplify the 'Jewel in the Crown,' this chaotic surf and shopping destination can often seem reminescent of the Twilight Zone. Like flies in a Mexican border town, street hawkers are EVERYWHERE. Not only are they pestering and aggressive, they can be downright hostile. When you arrive at the Denpasar airport, your best bet is to take an airport taxi to the upcountry slopes of Ubud which means 'medicine' in Bahasa Indonesia; or else contact my husband and me, and come to stay in the seaside resort...

These cats tried to steal my food.Cats are everywere and will come to you whenever there is something nice to eat. They are not voilent and rather small sized. Do NOT try to pet them. They will strike you withe the nail out. And as I said before, Bali is not as clean as home. So don't get infected!Another trap are the salesmen and women, trying to get you in their shops or selling out of cases. The watches are fony and the prices are alway negosiable. Never do a bid of more then 30% of the asked price. And if you don't want to buy, ignore them completely. Otherwise they will persist in trying to sell you something.
