Eksekutif class from Jakarta to Jogja
(I HATE my laptop mouse)...the shortened version of my train trip:For between 20 and 25 bucks, I took an overnight train from Gambir stesen in Jakarta to Jogja. surprisingly a meal was served, but unsurprisingly, the bread contained Durian. MY ENEMY THE DURIAN. I was reassured by the front desk who booked the ticket for me that the train would have a working air conditioner and a working water closet. well the a/c worked for about 20 minutes so I guess..that's ok...the bathroom, well I can't complain, it wasn't a squatter. but maybe I should look on the bright side? instead of taking the assumed 6.5 hours, the train ride took just 10 hours to complete the journey, including an hour+ stop in the middle of somewhere, with random, destitute villagers coming up to the broken doors of the train (held together at times by rusty screws) and trying to sell me dried randomness. oh right...the...
