Fondest memory: dieng plateau and gunung ungaran a.k.a candi gedung songo as comparison? well, my first choice will goes to dieng plateau for sure. but gunung ungaran can be the same, if the condition is not over-exposed and 'over-populated'. sadly and pity about candi gedung songo, since the term retreat from the heat and relaxation can not be guaranteed 100% as happened in dieng. here, so many teenagers make tents at the camping site [why the area is INSIDE of the complex of the temples?] and the unpermanent warung [tent for selling kind of mineral water, snacks etc] with orange tents anywhere on the way up to the top >> you can see through this picture, further a field from me. so you can imagine "busy be" in the weekend. avoid these times if you want to find something enjoyable to the top.

Favorite thing: before reconstruction in 1980s, this complex of temples stands from 9 temples settings individually. that's why known as candi gedung songo. literally 'nine buildings temple' from javanese lingo. but after rediscovered by dutch in 1740, sir stamford raffles called them "candi gedung pitoe" or 'seven buildings' [1804].
they're scattered along the tops of the foothills around gunung ungaran nearby semarang, central java. built in 8th and 9th centuries AD, the temples dedicated to shiva and vishnu gods.
