General Packing List : In My Humble Opinion
Luggage and bags: If you use Rucksack or Traveler bag on the trip, always brought an additional little backpack because it was easier to explore Bandung with a little backpack rather than Rucksack or Traveler Bag. Handbag were good but backpack was more mobile and more fitting for exploration. If you want to take your photography equipment with you, i suggest you brought a backpack and a leg-pack for highest mobility setting
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: light clothes were good with extra jacket if something happened. since Bandung were hotter on this day rather than several years ago, i recommend sneaker or mountain sandals, with short pants or cargo short and shirt. always bring along a jacket with you or a sweatshirt / hooded sweatshirt will be just fine.
Photo Equipment: Point & Shoot camera were quite mobile if you're trying to explore all side of Bandung. it was also small if you want to take candid shot. But if you want to bring along your Digital SLR, use small back, either sling-bag, leg-pack or backpack.
Bandung - A Shopping Paradise!
Luggage and bags: Just bring an empty luggage to put in all your shopping items which you have bought impulsively...
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You can shop for branded clothes at the factory outlets dotted all over Bandung at a fraction of the normal price!

Thou Shall Not Pack Heavy
Luggage and bags: Bring those luggages that can expand. Pack a smaller bag in your luggage. Of course, the smaller bag should also be expandable!
Try bringing a sling bag for shopping purposes. Bandung is a busy city with a lot of people and movement. In the confusion, you might lose your bags if unattended.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You can wear your jeans and normal T-shirts. Whilst wearing sports shoes are recommended, it may not be necessary all the time. A pair of Birkenstock can go a long way. If you're on a shopping trip there, skip bringing more than 2 shirts. Pack empty literally!
Skip your jewelleries or anything bling-bling, as you'll lose out when you want to bargain for cheaper prices! (it's already very cheap there, in the first place!)
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: We brought Vitamin Cs to ensure that we dont get tired or sick easily. And of course, toothbrush and paste!
Miscellaneous: You can bring your PDA that enables you to keep track of your spending and to also do the currency conversions on the spot.
Also bring an adapter for charging your phone and camera.
