Indische Tafel Bandoeng: Restaurant Indische Tafel- a time travel

    by ullfri49 Updated Apr 7, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Try to look back the time, in he time of railway and steamship and first wireless telegraph- this is the time of the restaurant "De Indische Tafel"

Oh for luck a friendly VT- friend of Bandung recommend this nice place and it was real a good evening there. (Dengan ini salam dan hormat kami untuk Ms. Rinjani yth. untuk bisa melihat tempat ini!!)

See for imagination the photos of the interioir. Not Special maybe - but together with this unique place this Restaurant seems to hold a little the atmosphere of ancient time.

When we came in, a Holland travelgroup just celebrate a cheerful birthday, singing "Gloria, Victoria...." ....- and real - that moment seems to me between the mirrors seen a small view back in time, in the 30-ties of last century.

The Cuisine in "de Indische Tafel" is fine and well done - good selection of belanda and indonesia...
See.... (it is a "just so photo"- but real it was very tasty!)

Perhaps it is a good idea to come early, or make a reservation. If to late, it can be that some the special "belanda" offered dishes are out.

here you can enjoy the food while watching film about World War II, listen to World War II song, read about World War II, and talk about it.

some of the owner collection were also put on display in this cafe.

    Kampung Daun: High altitude dining

    by hassan_abu Updated Jun 17, 2011

The food is slightly more expansive, but it is money well spent.
The ambience and atmosphere is ideal for a quiet romantic dinner with your loved ones or family and friends.
You will be treated like kings, dining next to the scenic waterfall and the cooling weather of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius makes it so special.

Favorite Dish: Soto Madura - but it is a little bit on the salty side. I had to dilute it with water.

Potluck Cafe & Library: A Silent Retreat Downtown

    by Seph_Aryo Updated Mar 5, 2011

Potluck Coffee Bar & Library were a quite silent place where you can take a deep breath for a while in the middle of a hectic day.

In my opinion, Potluck were designed as an semi-outdoor Coffee Bar and Library. The ambiance were quite perfect with books, music, food & snack, beverages, and cozy environment.

Although the books were few compared to public library, you can found some rare books on their possession.
And there is an occasional event on the weekend, from life music to poetry reading.

honestly, i am running out of word to describe Potluck, so it's better if you just stop by and enjoy it yourself

Favorite Dish: Hot Chocolate, just a simple Hot Chocolate. Because the taste of the chocolate were felt even when you smell on it.

The resto situated in an renovated old building. Nice but sometimes I think the color is not the best [since the wall painted pink ... so pinky]. But the menu are two thumbs up.

Favorite Dish: Fresh strawberry juice. No preservative added [without milk also, great!]. And Nasi Timbel Komplet [hot steamed rice wrapped in banana leaf, fresh veggie, sweet and sour soup, fried chicken, tofu and tempe and salty fish, plus chilli sauce].
