Takigawa: Only Japanese Resto for miles around

by cochinjew Written Dec 18, 2012

Even though I saw some Sushi places, didnt see a resto with japanese menu and this one certainly did. I ate there twice on this visit, once a light luncheon and the other time a shared dinner with friends .
the upstairs seating is comfortable and private and the service is excellent.

Favorite Dish: on the three occasions i have eaten here
I have tasted salmon, which is my favourite
    Sashimi
since i am always eating with friends many dishes are ordered and get to taste a few of them.
    special ramen noodle
    whole fish in ginger

The chef is trained in Jakarta

KARIMATA: Restaurant decorated like a traditional Open House

by cochinjew Written Dec 18, 2012

It is actually in Sentul, just a few minutes drive outside Bogor.
The cuisine is Sundanese but the presentation has an authenticity to it.
Ikan Bamboo, is cooked inside the Bamboo and it was just delicious
The fish was fresh water catfish.
Karadot is a local salad which is tasty also. I have had this dish in a few restos in the area, but here it tasted a little stronger and much to my taste
    Tahu
ginger tea was served steaming hot in bamboo tumblers and it was very soothing after a full meal.
i always try to write down the local names: gahe with kayu and manis (sweet carrot and cinnamon)

Favorite Dish: I was specially brought over here for the unique ambience of the place as well as
    Ikan Bamboo

Sorry I do not know the prices at the restaurants since I never saw a Bill..

Resto Gurih 7: Resto with Water Fall

At first we would like to go to "Gumati" the famous resto in Bogor which offer mountain view, but my sister suggest to try this Resto. It's located in a very large area with fish pool, bamboo room, and local menu. We stay from 4 pm till 6pm, so we saw how it looks before and after dark. There are some water fall with different size, giving a relaxing ambiance while you rest and having your meals

I saw many families with children, as they can see fish from where they sit, they also provide small play ground.

Favorite Dish: In my opinion, the food is not very special, but it's worth trying.
But if you enjoy the sound of water fall, which quite relaxing...this is the place for you.

    Es Kelapa Muda, Segeerrr !
    3 more images

I went with Friends from work, we had such a blast. The food's great, the place is great, we took tons of pics. It has really a great background landscape, Mount Salak. We ordered to have our lunch in the biggest gazebo, it's the one next to the Live Music Gazebo, so we practically had total control over the music, hahaha. Some of my friends were singing along, unstopable. They had a Fishing Tournament going on in the Biggest pond, just right in front of our gazebo, It's a separate pond. So Later in the afternoon some of us tried fishing as well and surprisingly we all caught a total of 5 kg (catfish-patin,lele, and carp). and They have another pond consisting of only 3 gazebos where they put their large collection fish. We were going crazy feeding the fish because there are like tons of fish. Giant Catfish (Lele), Giant White Catfish (Patin), and Large Carps.

Favorite Dish: We all had Es Kelapa Muda (Coconut Drinks) hmm... and we ordered tons of food, since there are 15 of us. Gurame Bakar, Lumpia, Sate Ayam, Karedok, Cumi Goreng Tepung (Grilled Gouramy, Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay, Salad with Peanut Sauce, Deep fried Squid). The Lumpia/Spring Roll was exceptionally crunchy, and the sauce was really really good. We kept on asking for more sauce. Chicken Satay has this great rich sauce, Gurame Bakar was just perfect. Towards the end we added Gurame Goreng/ Fried Gurame, it was crispy and tasty. Overall, the food's really really good. We'll definitely come back next time.

Another group was going to have a buffet lunch inside, and I took a glimpse of the Sweet n Sour Gouramy (gurame asem manis) that they set up beautifully on the metal dish, I just had to take a picture of it. Yummmm..........
