I was taken an evening bus from Pontianak to Kuching, the bus depart from Pontianak downtown at 09.00 PM, arrive at Entikong in the early morning at about 05.00 AM and all bus passengers should process to the Indonesia immigration check point, thence after in only 3 minutes walking distance to Tebedu, Malaysian Immigration check point to process your passport. The bus fare from Pontianak to Kuching is IDR 165,000
Kuching's regional express bus terminal is located along Jalan Penrissen, located south of the city. All long-distance express buses arrive from and leave for major Sarawak cities like Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, as well as Pontianak in Indonesia.

There are two Airline which link Kuching in Sarawak to Pontianak in West Kalimantan:
KALSTAR is scheduled on the daily basis, you could buy the ticket from one of a travel agent, or 'go show' directly to Kuching Airport Kalstar counter, the payment is by cash only.
BATAVIA AIR is scheduled three times a week, if you buy the ticket at Kuching Airport Batvia counter, this Airline accept the payment by credit card
The trip from Pontianak to Kuching vise verse would take about 30 minutes

There are many Airline Services which connected Jakarta and Pontianak, Garuda Indonesia, Batavia Airline, Sriwijaya Air and Kalstar Airline.
It would take about one and a half hours and the prices is competitive between Airlines.
Garuda is more reliable than the others, the schedule almost in time and the price almost the same if compare with the others but the service is more better, you could book online at www.garuda-indonesia.com or by phone call at +62.21.23519999 and pay by credit card or by debit card. You can get a good promotion price if you are booking early in advance

There is a new city taxi using Daihatsu Ceria. I never try it before but it's pretty small and cute. Unfortunately is hard to be seen except Gajahmada Rd. Please refer to travel agent for more detail.

Around Pontianak, can be reached by boat also, since this city has the longest river in Indonesia; Sungai Kapuas. Meanwhile, from Pontianak to Singkawang can be reached by bus about 4 hours.
