Joining fisherman!

Its not just fishing, but its more deeper in contact with some local fisherman. Specially after spending of sometime just laying on the beach relax. Meeting several fisherman passing by, its not impossible to have a talk and further to join them fishing. Easier as a backpacker, I mean, not in a big group. What you have to do is asking when and how long to go fishing. If both party ok, then jumpin in. Furthermore you can have a chat about local tricks on fishing ... quite fun.

Gili Air by ukirsari

Among three islands at the Lombok Strait, Gili Air is the biggest. Population about 1,500 people and when I was there, my Cidomo driver said; during 9 months there, the raindrops never comes!!!! Bright sunny day and white sandy beach. The perfect moment to have diving and snorkeling around.

Malimbu beack Lombok by ukirsari

A beautiful beach nearby the main spot Senggigi beach. The name Malimbu remind us with Malibu beach in the USA. Some people joking; yes, it was taken based the foreigners who say "This is Malibu." But the local misspelled it to Malimbu :)

Pura Batubolong by ukirsari

Batu Bolong means a huge rock with a hole in it [we can assumed this contrary with Tanah Lot in Bali ~ a temple on the top of eroded rock]. Meanwhile, the Pura Batu Bolong is a temple on the top of this huge rock with a hole. From the distance, can be seen Mount Agung in Bali.

Balekambang Cakranegara by ukirsari

Several pura [temples] and taman [park] mirrored influence of Balinese culture to the locals since centuries ago. It's based on the story of King Karangasem who moved his capital city during the war of Gel-gel period.
The Balinese accents at Mataram such as: Balekambang [floating court house], sacred spring Narmada, Pura Meru and Pura Lingsar.
