There are so many art shops available in Lombok. Several villages has their own specialities. Like earthenware and terracota at Banyumulek Village and weaving sarung [saroong] at Sukarara Village.

Lombok people are very polite. Please bend your back a bit if you're asking something and say "tampi asih" [terima kasih in Indonesian or thanks in English] after you get the info or get something from their hands.
Whenever you want to say 'yes', just say "inggih" or "nggih" just like them and they will smile to find us as a fast learner :)
Then, the traditional clothes I use here is only for single. That's why so colorful. If you get married or have a fiancee, the patterns of the weaving fabrics will more calm than this one.

As a place who has so many beautiful beaches and gili [small island] to be explored, please consider to the dangerous or poisonous sea creatures along Lombok Straits. Such as jellyfish, Duri Babi [poisonous thorny fish] and ... sharks. Asking the locals or your guide; the best time for swimming, snorkeling or diving.

It's not a real tourist trap as might be you think. It's about my feeling [which so blue .....] when I have to fly home. With beautiful scenery like this? Oh, give me longer days, please :)
Then the real tourist trap is about the boys who selling many handicrafts. These salesmen sometimes pushing you to take one or more of their stuffs.
Unique Suggestions: Please do not touch their stuffs if you don't want and say politely that you don't or you can't buy them. Do not even touch, since touching means you're agree to buy.
Fun Alternatives: Leave them and still say "No, thanks" with smile and they will not pushing anymore.

Luggage and bags: Daily pack and bigger backpack [for clothes and souvenirs, hehehe].
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Cotton t-shirt, 3/4 capri pants, short pants added with sarung [saroong] since the locals not like in Bali [which seeing tourists everyday] and sandals. Plus swimsuit, mask and sarung [again].
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sun block, medicine for your tummy and headache, after sunblock.
Photo Equipment: Rechargeable batteries for digicam.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Well, so many cabins are available in Gili Meno, Trawangan and Air, so you don't need to bring a tent. Hammock will be nice to hang it between coconut trees or pinewood.
