Adu Kerbau is the traditional bullfight that takes place regularly between two buffalo bulls who run around a muddy field until one flees, often breaking the barrier while spectators run for their lives. Many tour operators offer trips to Kota Baru and Batagak where the fights take place.

This place is very nice for dining in terms of its price and quailty. Its old-fashioned style decorated looks really Southeast Asian, or more specifically Indonesian, but often Western or foreign customers are main stream of the profit. I had dinner everyday during my stay in Bukittinggi. It's just a small old restaurant - probably one of the oldest in town. However, they have quite a lot of options in the menu and everything I ordered were very good. It's also quite cheap. The "babi kecap" (pork with sweet soy sauce) is very good!
