The complex of Hotel Queen of The South beach-resort offers Javanese dinner with traditional entertainment. All is drenched with its spiritual significance included the exotic names of the resting rooms; Parang Suko Lounge, Parang Kencono Dining Room and the beautiful Parang Samudra Pool Bar with its magnificent seaview.
Although you can order delicious food of international fame I could not resist ordering the common traditional "gado-gado", and "rujak" (both traditional salads, made of vegetables and fruit). Just for it so famous, and great traditional taste, so different from even The Hague's best-known Indonesian restaurants ...
Favorite Dish: What makes it so different from home-food? Ofcourse the ingredients are from the country itself. Enjoying the original Javanese vegetables salad with peanut-sauce "gado-gado", or the hot spicy fruitsalad mixture of "rujak", makes it difficult to say "sudah kenyang" (I am satisfied).
What does taste better then a nice grilled corn ,
soaked in a sweet juice before baked ,
in a wonderful natural setting.....
Can you think of anything else?
