Parangtritis Warnings and Dangers

The colour of "green" is said to be the very colour of the Javanese Spirit-queen. To the traditional and local custom this colour is forbidden to wear ... along the whole Southern shore of Java.

Along the South-coast all over the Indian Ocean/Southern-Sea it is blowing a gale to the black lava-beaches and the limestone mountains of the Java-shore. The mass-of-ocean used to be dangerous to life, also because of the undercurrent-powers of enormously pulling, tugging and sucking. I was told when entering the dunes just stay close to the villages like Parangtritis. Because the sand of the dunes are moving constantly.

It happened before people going for a walk just vanished and never returned!

The area in the dunes is so perfidious because of the loose sand on dangerous subsoil. The violent ocean and strong waves can cause a vacuum deep inside of the subsoil, that in a sudden one moment collapse ...

So just go for a little walk and stay close to the people of the villages ...

Besides,... it is extremely hot in this sandy area, keep your bottle of water close to you!

Warning signs along the Southern coast of Java cannot be ignored. I heard the report about the bus driving up the beach. Waves encircled the bus full of passengers and sucked the vehicle into sand within seconds. About 8 people got drowned ...
