Have to See at Prambanan

Favorite thing: The main site of Prambanan contains four temples scattered about a large, landscaped park. The complex is open daily from 6 AM to 6 PM and entry costs a fixed US$10 (US$6 student), try to get there early to beat the heat. Guides can be hired at the ticket office, costs you Rp50.000

Prambanan's Tourist Information center

Favorite thing: At the entrance Gate, one can find a building which serve as a Tourist information center, one can find any information about Prambanan Temple and its history, and also some peoples inside the temple park offers some copied leaflets of Prambanan history with bargaining price, but it was written in Indonesia, anyway you can check if there is also a copied which is written in English

Fondest memory: If you visit the temple in the afternoon and by happen it was also in the full moon, you can see a Ramayana Ballet not far from this site, some guide will show you the place of the Performance

Crowds at Prambanan

Favorite thing: Though Prambanan is easily accessible, some may want to take guided tour over here. Here's a sample of the tours that I found in the backpacker district Jalan Prawirotman ( prices accurate as at Jan2006). Just take note, I'm no bloody tour agent so quit asking me why is it that some tours start at a ghastly hour! This is just a sample to help you plan your holiday a little better.

1. Borobodur Sunrise+ Prambanan ( 50,000Rp). Starts at 5am

2. Sunset at Prambanan (Boko Hill)+Ramayana Ballet . Starts at 2pm (75,000Rp + 150,000Ballet tix). The open air performance which are more dramatic are held from May to Oct.

3.Prambanan + City Tour (75,000Rp) . Starts at 830am

4.Sunset at Prambanan (Boko Hill) Starts at 2pm ( 45,000Rp)

5.Borobodur+Prambanan+Kota Gede ( 50,000Rp) Starts at 730am

Tickets for park good for a day

Favorite thing: Favorite Thing:
The ticket you had purchased to enter Borobudor or Prambanan is good for the day itself, meaning you can exit and visit the sites as many times as you wish, as you move around. This allows you, especially for photographers, to take pictures of the sites at different time of the day.

Favorite thing: Map of Prambanan Archaeological Park
It's a nice walk from Prambanan temples towards Sewu temples. There's free tram service though.
