okumura mansion

IN HISTORY

Surrounding the castle built by the lord are residential houses of Samurai warriors to guard the castle.

Trademen and merchants gather to live in the town to promote trades. This is how old castle towns developed, and Inuyama is one of the old castle towns developed in ancient days of Japan.

Near the MEITETSU INUYAMA LINE there are one of those houses the Okumura Residence..

It was the mansion of the OKUMURA family, who kept a kimono shop in the EDO period...
The mansion was built between 1842 and 1844 in the DOZO-ZUKURI style, its on the OLD NAKASENDO ROAD...

Some time ago it was a museum but now its a french restaurant...:)

ninto-shu

The Ninto-shu, or sake producer house....In the NERIYA DiSTRICT, is a great example of well preserved history...

Built in 1597 by HIROSUKE KOJIMA, the structure dates from the AZUCHI-MOMOYAMA period..

SAKE production has traditionally been a very profitable industry in JAPAN and this NINTO-SHU leaves you with the impression that the owner were well-off....

The street is lined with these houses, there are many sign, with japanese explanations but a few I found that had english...

Just walk around and get lost..:) and you will find the most amazing buildings, just a beautiful city
